About BioCamp
Taiwan’s government has defined biotechnology as a key development industry, aiming to become the biotechnology and pharmaceuticals R&D hub of Asia Pacific. Novartis shares the interest in biotechnology and is willing to support Taiwan in its local development of biotechnology. In a joint effort with government bodies and prominent research institutes in Taiwan, BioCamp serve as a platform to develop new talents.
BioCamp was initiated in 2004 by Novartis Taiwan, directed by Science & Technology Advisory Group (STAG), Executive Yuan, and co-organized with Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Program Office (BPIPO), Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Today, BioCamp has expanded from a local initiative to a global event. Countries such as Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Thailand are active in this annual event. Moreover, Switzerland has initiated an European BioCamp in 2007.
